Privacy Policy
In short
Photo Log has no account or sign-in. The photos and records you make are stored only on this device, and the app doesn't send them to our servers or anywhere else. No analytics, advertising or tracking tools are used.
Information stored on your device
Only what you enter or choose yourself is stored, in the app's private storage on this device.
- Record details: record name, the checklist you chose, notes and the conditions you marked (scratch, etc.)
- Photos and videos you take or choose (videos are saved without sound), and the time the app saved them
- A file fingerprint (SHA-256) calculated for each photo file
- Location coordinates for each photo, only if you turn on “Save location”
- Reminder dates for your next photos, app settings, and whether Lifetime access is active with its transaction number
What we don't collect or send
- Your records aren't sent anywhere, including our own servers. The app has no feature that sends your records off the device.
- No analytics, crash reporting or advertising tools, and no advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID). No tracking across other apps or websites.
- We don't ask for identifying information such as your name, phone number, email, bank account or card number.
- We don't sell your information or share it with third parties.
Device permissions
- Camera: requested when you take photos. The microphone isn't used, so videos have no sound.
- Photo picker: only the photos you pick in the system picker come into the app. Your photo library isn't read.
- Location (optional, off at first): only if you turn on “Save location”, the app reads your location while you're using it and saves it with the photo on your device. Background location isn't used.
- Save a copy to Photos (optional, off at first): only when turned on, a copy of each photo you take is added to your Photos app. Other photos aren't read.
- Notifications (optional): requested when you set a reminder for your next photos.
- Voice guide (optional, off at first): your device's built-in text-to-speech reads out what to photograph.
If you don't allow a permission, the rest of the app still works. You can change permissions anytime in your device settings.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server or push token is used.
Reminders show the record name, which can be visible on your lock screen.
In-app purchases
Buying or restoring Lifetime access is handled by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment details, such as your name or card number. The app only talks to your device's store billing service and never sends your records or photos with it. Once a purchase is confirmed, only whether it's active and its transaction number are stored on this device.
Exports and backup files
A file is created only when you tap an export option, and it's handed to your device's share sheet. You choose where to save or send it, and from then on the policy of the service you chose applies. Exported files aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.
You can create PDF reports, before/after comparison images, share photos, and create an archive file (ZIP) of the original photos. If you saved locations, the PDF may include coordinates, so check before sharing.
Retention and deletion
Your information stays on this device until you delete it or uninstall the app. We can neither see nor recover it.
Deleting a record also deletes its photos, videos and reminders in the app. Copies you saved to your Photos app need to be deleted there. Uninstalling the app deletes every record in the app.
If your device backup is on (such as iCloud Backup or Google backup), your operating system may include app data in the backup of your own account. That backup follows Apple's or Google's policies, and we have no access to it.
Children
This app isn't directed at children. Because the app doesn't collect personal information, it doesn't collect children's personal information either.
Your rights
All information is on your device only, so you can view, edit and delete it yourself in the app. We don't hold your information, so there's nothing for us to provide or delete on request. For questions, contact us using the details below. You can also contact the data protection authority where you live.
