In short

Bought Today has no account or sign-in. The purchases and photos you add are stored only on this device, and the app doesn't send them to our servers or anywhere else. No analytics, advertising or tracking tools are used.

Information stored on your device

Only what you enter or choose yourself is stored, in the app's private storage on this device.

  • Purchase details: item name, price, store, purchase and delivery dates, the return date you set, warranty end date, model, serial number, notes and status (Deciding, Keeping, etc.)
  • Receipt and product photos you choose or take (a copy is kept in the app's private storage)
  • Whether reminders are on, and their time
  • Whether Pro is active, and its transaction number

What we don't collect or send

  • Your records aren't sent anywhere, including our own servers. The app has no feature that sends your records off the device.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or advertising tools, and no advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID). No tracking across other apps or websites.
  • We don't ask for identifying information such as your name, phone number, email, bank account or card number.
  • We don't sell your information or share it with third parties.

Device permissions

  • Camera: requested only when you tap “Take photo”. Photos you take stay in the app and aren't saved to your Photos app.
  • Photo picker: only the photo you pick in the system picker comes into the app. No access to your whole photo library.
  • Notifications: requested when you turn on return and warranty reminders.
  • No access to your location, contacts, messages or microphone.

If you don't allow a permission, the rest of the app still works. You can change permissions anytime in your device settings.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server or push token is used.

Reminders show the item name, which can be visible on your lock screen. You can turn them off anytime in the app's Settings.

In-app purchases

Buying or restoring Bought Today Pro is handled by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment details, such as your name or card number. The app only talks to your device's store billing service and never sends your records or photos with it. Once a purchase is confirmed, only whether it's active and its transaction number are stored on this device.

Exports and backup files

A file is created only when you tap an export option, and it's handed to your device's share sheet. You choose where to save or send it, and from then on the policy of the service you chose applies. Exported files aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.

You can create a backup file (zip) that includes your photos, and a CSV of your purchases. Temporary files the app creates are deleted once sharing ends.

Retention and deletion

Your information stays on this device until you delete it or uninstall the app. We can neither see nor recover it.

Settings > Backup · Restore · Export > Delete all records removes your purchases, the receipt and product photos you kept, scheduled reminders and temporary files the app created. Deleting a single purchase also deletes its photos and reminders. Your Pro status isn't removed by this; it's removed when you uninstall the app, and “Restore purchases” brings it back.

On Android, automatic backup is turned off for this app.

If your device backup is on (such as iCloud Backup or Google backup), your operating system may include app data in the backup of your own account. That backup follows Apple's or Google's policies, and we have no access to it.

Children

This app isn't directed at children. Because the app doesn't collect personal information, it doesn't collect children's personal information either.

Your rights

All information is on your device only, so you can view, edit and delete it yourself in the app. We don't hold your information, so there's nothing for us to provide or delete on request.
